Yes, I am going to post more of my story. Because I found the file and remembered, so yippee. Here ya go.
The young anthropologist discovered the cave in this way: after traveling to Bulgaria hoping to find something new concerning the Sarakatsani, the most ancient of the European peoples, he set about searching. He found nothing. Jones stayed in Sofia for two years and found absolutely nothing. He was living day-to-day, having spent all his money and sold everything he owned that he might stay just a little longer. It became apparent that there was nothing to be found.
Finally, Jones decided to go out into the woods where no one would be around to be bothered and rid the world of his miserable carcass. He hitchhiked into the countryside and walked through the forests, shivering against the stiff wind that warned of the fast-approaching Bulgarian winter. Finally, he came to a clearing and stopped. This was the place. He got out the rope with its slip knot, thick and strong, and began to climb a tree. This was the tree. He climbed to where the first branch stuck out, thick and about fifteen feet up off the ground. Here, Jones stopped. This was going to be a tricky business, tying the rope to the branch while holding on. He fumbled with the rope for a few minutes, then decided to go for it. He lunged out onto the branch and tried to tie the knot as he fell to Earth. It did not work and he tumbled out of the tree. Maybe, he thought, it was just as well. Down, down, down he fell, landing hard on his back at the bottom of the tree. Everything went black.
So there. :)
